SCRV PRIDE BRUNCH RETURNS

We are excited to announce the upcoming SCRV Pride Brunch, presented by One Step A La Vez, in celebration of Pride Month and our collective commitment to visibility, equality, and inclusion for the LGBTQ+ community.

The SCRV Pride Brunch will take place on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Noon at Palazzio’s Event Center in Santa Paula. This special event will bring together community leaders, local businesses, advocates, and allies for an afternoon of inspiration, unity, and celebration.

Last year’s SCRV Pride Brunch was our most impactful gathering yet, welcoming more than 275 attendees from across the region. While the event was filled with joy and community pride, it also became a moment of reflection and solidarity following the passing of beloved SCRV Pride Committee member Thomas J. Weisbecker on June 21, 2025. In his honor, the committee launched the Thomas J. Weisbecker Memorial Educational Scholarship, which has already raised $5,000 to support LGBTQ+ youth and allies pursuing higher education. This year we will be announcing those scholarship winners.

The 2025 brunch also celebrated local leadership and advocacy through the presentation of the Community Shining Star Award to José Luis Melgar and Gilbert Moreno for their unwavering support of the LGBTQ+ community.

As we prepare for the 2026 event, we are seeking sponsorship support to help cover event expenses and expand access to as many community members as possible. Sponsorship contributions directly support catering, entertainment, logistics, supplies, and other event-related costs that help create a welcoming and meaningful experience for all.
