At One Step A La Vez, we believe every young person deserves a place where they feel safe, welcomed, supported, and valued.

Whether you want somewhere to hang out after school, need help reaching your goals, want to meet new people, or are ready to make a difference in your community, there is a place for you here.

Our Teen Centers are designed for young people ages 13–19 from Fillmore, Piru, Santa Paula, and throughout the Santa Clara River Valley. This is a space where you can be yourself, build friendships, connect with caring mentors, and discover new opportunities.

Wherever you're starting, we'll meet you there—one step at a time.

There is always something happening at One Step! Depending on your interests, you can:

Hang out and connect with other teens in a safe and welcoming environment
Get homework support and encouragement with school
Participate in leadership and youth organizing
Explore careers, college, and your plans for the future
Join mental wellness activities and connect with supportive resources
Take part in field trips, outdoor adventures, workshops, and special events
Volunteer and give back to your community
Learn about issues affecting young people and use your voice to create change
Participate in programs celebrating culture, identity, diversity, and belonging
Build life skills, confidence, friendships, and memories

You don't have to have everything figured out to belong at One Step. Our doors are open to young people from different backgrounds, cultures, identities, experiences, and walks of life. We are committed to creating an environment where every teen is treated with dignity and respect.

More Than a Teen Center

One Step is a place to discover what you're capable of. You can develop leadership skills, advocate for issues you care about, prepare for college or a career, connect with mentors, explore new places, and meet people who believe in your potential.

Some teens come through our doors looking for something to do after school. Others come looking for support, friendship, or an opportunity to get involved. Many eventually become leaders who help welcome and inspire the next generation of One Step teens.
